Schools

Butterfly Paddock can accomodate block Forest School bookings for example one session per week over a whole term.  We can also offer single sessions for Primary School aged children.  These bookings can be made for a whole class or smaller sized groups. Sessions are individually designed and can fit in with nearly all aspects of the curriculum.  There are a broad range of themes that can be incorporated into an outdoor session, these sessions can include more obvious topics such as nature, weather and seasons but can also include topics such as stories and story telling, kings and queens, forces and senses.  Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and ideas.

Courses can also be booked to accommodate children and young people of both primary and secondary school age with social and emotional needs or young people who find a conventional class room environment challenging.  This includes children and young people at risk of becoming permanently excluded.  It is shown that a Forest School setting stimulates all senses and therefore is suited to any learning style.  Butterfly Paddock staff are experienced in working with young people with a vast array of additional needs and challenging behaviours.

Residential Children's Homes

It has been found that regular targeted Forest School sessions promote pride, respect of others and their surroundings.  Young People learn to identify and evaluate risk and learn to consider ways to minimise this.  Identifying and managing risk promotes a sense of responsibility for their actions along with a responsibility for their own and others safety.  Butterfly Paddock advises that young people from this setting are booked in for regular sessions over prolonged periods to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved.

Foster Families

Butterfly Paddock offers directed sessions for Foster Families, these sessions work towards building and strengthening positive relationships, building bonds of trust and assisting in easing tensions within the foster placement.  Butterfly Paddock works in collaboration with LAC experts to work towards strengthening bonds and reducing the risk of placement breakdown.

We also run fun sessions for siblings who are accommodated separately to allow them to spend quality time together.  We offer fun activities to accommodate all age ranges.

We encourage bookings from children's and youth groups including day nurseries, play schemes, girl guiding groups, beavers, scouts and youth clubs.  Both day trips and block bookings can be organised offering a variety of activities which can be both fun and educational.  Sessions can be any theme of your choice and our site can be decorated to give your group a truly unique experience.  Activities can include den building, treasure hunts, exploring, tree climbing, games, cooking on a camp fire and much more.
